DOLCEZZA PORGE E GRAN DILETTO
Concerto con liuto e soprano Madrigale di Bottegari
COSIMO BOTTEGARI (1554—1620)
Sculptures by Lisa Nocentini
Musical performance by
Lucia Sciannimanico, voice
Gian Luca Lastraioli, lute
This multimedia event combines an exhibition of sculptures by ceramic artist Lisa Nocentini, with a live performance (in Italian) of a programme of Renaissance
music performed by lutenist Gian Luca Lastraioli and singer Lucia Sciannimanico. Each song will be presented beside each inspired piece of artwork.
The music performed is from an original manuscript by Cosimo Bottegari, a brilliant musical entertainer and singer – sometimes ironic and witty, occasionally irresistibly comical, often passionately dramatic – who was one of the outstanding figures at the Medici court of Florence in the late 16th Century.
The evening will be characterized by variety and brilliance, offering both sophisticated madrigals composed by Bottegari in the then new “recitative style”, and sparkling and humorous villanellas which could be described as examples of “Renaissance cabaret music”.ser Francesca Caccini.
